How it works

Small steps. Big leaps in reading.

Mentava teaches kids to read by connecting letters with sounds, then sounds into words. We make every step as clear and motivating as possible, so your child can learn as fast as they’re ready to.

The approach

Teach every step well. Make the next one inviting.

01

Start with letter sounds.

Your child learns the sounds letters represent: “mmm” for m, “sss” for s. This is the foundation of phonics—learning to read by sounding out words.

02

Turn sounds into words.

Next, they learn to join sounds smoothly: “mmm” and “at” become “mat.” That skill is called blending. Each new sound and spelling pattern unlocks more words, working toward reading books independently.

03

Make the tricky parts click.

We refine every detail to remove unnecessary confusion. Color helps kids see that “sh” makes one sound; those cues fade as they learn. A bird stays in flight when they connect sounds smoothly, helping them see and correct pauses.

04

Keep them coming back.

Reading takes practice over months. Our team brings experience designing leading video games to make that practice rewarding. Every activity has a learning purpose: keep kids motivated while asking them to do real, challenging work.

Learning together

We guide the lesson. You share the discovery.

Set aside 15–30 minutes a day together. Mentava provides the instruction and feedback. You encourage your child through a challenge, celebrate a new word, and enjoy seeing what they can do.

Your child moves ahead as they master each skill. The goal is independent reading—and a whole world of books to explore.
